Bond Mountain Spring: Since the 1790's The Bond Mountain Spring has been owned and maintained by the Bond family. William Bond moved to Newfield and purchased land as an investment. Later one of his sons, Thomas Bond built a home on the top of Bond Mountain where he and his wife raised seven children. The Bond family still believe the spring should always remain available as a source of water for the public. There are very few public springs today that also offer a well groomed 800 feet hike to it's top. Newfield is blessed to have the Bond Mountain Spring. http://mainedayhiker.blogspot.com/2008/07/bond-mountain-west-newfield-york-county.html
